Jack Dempsey Embroidery

This auction is for a cross stitch quilt kit by Jack Dempsey Needle Art in the "Medallion" pattern, measuring 69 x 86 inches, or single size.  However, the new owner can make this quilt as large as desired by adding borders and/or sashing.  The orchids in the border are on individual blocks, so adding sashing will enlarge the quilt significantly.   The kit instructions indicate that 52 skeins of embroidery floss will be required to complete this kit as shown on the front cover. The stitches suggested in the kit instructions are cross-stitch, outline, lazy daisy and French knots.  The suggested colors are 3 purples, green and yellow/gold, but of course, the new owner can complete this kit in whatever colors he/she chooses. After the embroidery is completed, the medallion and blocks will need to be sewn together, then the top sandwiched, quilted, and bound. This kit has an age-related, musty odor; however, the new owner should NOT wash this quilt before completing the embroidery, or the embroidery pattern will wash out. The embroidery pattern is visible for easy completion of this project. This kit is listed as used although it has never been used as a quilt or bedspread.  Please see my other listings for more quilting and embroidery items.
